Michael Jackson's Death

Wow, Michael Jackson has died. The sudden death has stunned the world. Just watching the coverage on CNN with Larry King. I grew up listening to his music on AM radio and still love some of the Jackson 5 songs like "I Want You Back" and "I'll Be There". Also remember watching The Jackson's Variety show from 1977 with my sisters on those hot summer nights in Ontario. We would be out playing baseball or at the park and would run home to make sure we caught the show.
It's too bad in later years he was more of a freak and had all that plastic surgery. Would have been nice to see if he had just concentrated on his music where his career in his later years would have taken him. Whether you liked his music or not, he clearly had talent and influenced a generation of artists.

I was thinking of bands and solo artists who could play The Commons and sell it out...U2, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney comes to mind and Michael Jackson definitely would have...now we'll never know.

It's weird that there has been 3 celebrity deaths with Farrah Fawcett dying today and Ed McMahon the other day. I found this on Youtube. Ed McMahon on The Jackson's Variety Show from 1977. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plXoByexa0o&feature=PlayList&p=AD3D3747DCA7A2A9&index=40

And take a look at Michael when he was young on '70's variety shows like Flip Wilson, Carol Burnett and others.
